Drew Landry For West Texas

Meet Drew . . .

"I was born and raised in Jasonville, Indiana. It was and still is a rural area and brought me my understanding of rural needs"

"I graduated from the University of Evansville in 2006 with a BS in Social Studies education. I wanted to be a high school social studies teacher but life had other plans. I taught at an all girls treatment facility for most of 2007. I left that establishment in 2008 and sought another field but education was always calling me."

''After doing a variety of jobs, I went to get my MA in political science from the University of Rhode Island in 2009. I graduated in 2011 and moved back home. I stayed there for a year and was adjunct at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington, Indiana.''

Then finally in 2012, I moved to Lubbock to teach at South Plains College. Lubbock and SPC are a dream for me because it is where I've always needed to be but God had a larger plan. With the Republicans in the legislature and throughout Texas labeling teachers and schools public enemy number one, I could no longer be silent.
